This is just a quick bitch about our governance. Be it Liberal or Labor, we have a problem. To promote our country the federal government allocates tax payers money to assist in growing areas that will help bring attention to our country internationally. An example is our Sports industry. Millions are allocated to providing training facilities and educational resources as well as sponsorships to our athletes in many ways (sometimes indirectly). This is great, as we have noticed that our athletic standards are world class and we have many competitive record holders in our ranks. Their attention gets Australia attention internationally, a form of recognition that we are a nation of ability. It's probably also alot to do with our freedom. We are free to do a lot more than other countries. We are very priviledged to have so much here. Yet the one industry I don't see the government spending as much on is our Entertainment industry...
An area we do lack training in. And an area that will always bring far more attention to our country as our creative people continue to prove themselves internationally. It's just a shame that our best talent can't strive here, they have to look to overseas to be their best. Slowly though we are seeing that change as studios bring themselves down to Australia and New Zealand. But both our countries know that we lack skilled workers in this industry, there is little training compared to the workload pending its future arrival. Along with this, we also see the dodgy little courses appearing to take advantage of a big gap yet to be filled with qualified instructors. Our only resource at present has been the fact that the studios give us a break and let our artists train on the job. And our attitude is that we give 120% effort to ensure we see the work return to our shores. That's why international studios like working with us. We are keen to learn.
In the meantime, could the government whilst it throws money around please find it in their heart to instruct our athletes on the english language. Here are some fine examples.
