I was asked recently about my cartooning career during a chat with some friends. One question related was now that Ilook side-ways to the people I used to look up to
how has my perceptions changed of myself or them. The only real difference I have made to meeting "celebrities" or people of note has been that they are essentially just people. Normal people. And I treat them that way, as I would to other friends or family. When I was in KL, I was given the chance to meet some of their most well know celebrities. I had no idea who they were and on what scale, and I found it refreshing that I could chat to them without having to choose too much about what to discuss with them. I think people place others on a pedestal out of respect for their achievements, but they do forget that they are just another human being. I respect those whom I looked up to in my career, but I won't place them on a pedestal above me. They are my equals.

I haven't bought any books in a while. Recently I dropped by Kinokuniya in the city and picked up some stuff I'd been after in a while. The Art of CarsThe Art of Cars was one book I had been waiting for. It coincides with the release of the Cars (Widescreen Edition)
DVD here. I don't want to crap on about the book, but I will encourage those of you who love to gaze at all those sketches that artists do before they get polished... then get this. The Art of Cars has some incredible pastel art, pencil sketches and great concept art that definitely make this worth the money.
I'm back at home and back to work. I'm feeling far better now. I still get a bit knackered at night some times but in general I think i've overcome the worst of the EB Virus or more commonly giggled to the tune of the Kissing Disease. Har har huh. It's not as grusome as wikipedia explains. The acute period is only three weeks max which i passed some time ago now. Hence why I am starting to feel normal again. The only thing not normal is just the liver inflammation. Hopefully it'll settle down in time for christmas drinks huh?
The doctors explain there are many ways to be infected. In the emergency department of the hospital the attention was put on the fact i have tattoos. I also had a lot of blood samples done throughout the year for my blood pressure as well. Whichever way I got it, as the Professor in the Infectious Disease department told me, its something you wish you get as a child so the affects aren't as serious.
I had Atrial Fibrilations in hospital where the cardiology team decided to reset my heart. This requires being ZZAPed through Cardioversion. Hopefully in to a rhythm that they're happy with. I woke in my hospital bed with horrible oxygen hoses shoved up my nose and I was kicking with a regular beat again.
This is part of my lengthy stay in hospital. I was a rare textbook case for them with all of the symptoms i had. They kept me in for observation, as one GP Registrar said " We've only ever read about cases like you in books, we'd like to keep you here for a few more days " .... great I'm a guinea pig. More later..
So back to work and back to being normal again. And no, I'm not infectious so there!
