Syncing Mac's with other devices

Thought this might interest those mac users out there who are probably tearing their hair out as to why some companies leave OSX out of the picture when it comes to synchronising their devices. Here is an example, I use a Motorola V620 mobile phone which comes standard with the CD to install and sync up with Windows. Great for PC users, tits on a frog to Mac people. The other issue was that I was looking for a PocketPC which again has all support for Windows. No Mac. WTF?

So after a little research, it seems there is some alternative software you can buy as a plugin to iSync in OSX that will help you synchronise. So using PocketMac's Go Between software I can now sync up my phone with Entourage, Address Book and iCal. And if I bother with a PocketPC they have the software that will allow my Mac to sync with that as well.

I love their other software too that allows you to convert your iPod in to a PDA of some sorts. Very handy indeed. Keep an eye on this company.

Just spoken with an old friend and colleague, looks like i'll return to the live gig scene again. Won't be until after I arrive back from KL in September though. So don't go looking for me yet. Ever been to this location:

Dark Fraggle Crystals

What's been happening that I bet you probably haven't been hearing of? well with my ear close to the ground I can tell you this... The sequel for the Dark Crystal is drawing nearer and should be quite a stand alone to its predecessor. Also from the same studio is the development of one of the shows I watched all those years ago, I wish they'd bring it back to TV but instead they're developing a feature film of Fraggle Rock.

Equally entertaining will be merchandise of some old characters that Jim Henson designed in his earlier career.

I'm working on a company logo at the moment with the theme being around superheroes.

It's daunting sometimes to think of how you could design something new that will look refreshing as well. It's a great challenge. I like to take the stereotypes and play them up or completely change what is normal or standard and see if they can be joined for a totally different effect.

hmm........ 26 days....

Turkey Slapping

Speaking of turkey slapping, I had to turn out a cartoon for chickenpox immunisation. Something I learnt was that the virus has nothing to do with chickens at all. It got its name as the appearance on the skin is similar to that of chick peas! So there you go, you not only get a piss funny read at this blog but you get educated along the way.

This was done in a matter of minutes thanks to digital technology. I love my Intuos and Painter. And a big heads up to Richard at Corel Australia and to David at Wacom.

So Italy won the Academy Award huh.... geez they really fought hard for that one. Maybe they should learn to play the game rather than hone in on acting skills. Mind you, they're acting is best bar none. Hollyweird is calling Italy!

Pixel art

A popular design these days is the revert back to retro gaming images. Pixel art has been popular of recent and a classic design. I found a tutorial recently I think you'll find interesting.

And if you'd like some mini icons for free? try these out.
