No more Mars Staedtler Lumochrom

I was consciously making an effort to reduce waste in the studio and also save money (tight arse) by using the one piece of paper to complete a comic strip on. To do this I was using a non reproductive blue pencil which also meant I could rough out a strip and not have to erase any lines and waste more time waiting for ink to dry before cleaning up prior to scanning. I had a heap of Mars Staedtler Lumochrom pencils I had pinched before the animation studio went bust that I worked for (the bastards never paid my last few scenes so this is what I get!) and they were going great. Till I ran out. Now after speaking to numerous art stores and suppliers and making a plead to Staedtler themselves they have announced the production of these pencils has ended and there are no replacements. Bastards !

I've since found a new non-repro blue pencil, a Faber-Castel Polychromos pencil in a shade called Light Pthalo Blue. Perfect pencil to work with and never gets picked up when I scan a strip in. Go get 'em while they're out!
