I've just discovered a few boxes of Brush Pens I had imported from Japan. These pens have a man made tip that never loses its point and is made of brush like fibres. Unlike the other imitation brush pens where the brush is solid rubber. These are a professional Japanese Calligraphy Pen that Pentel manufacture but have not sold in this country for about 4 years. The ink cartridges are still available from craft shops.
I'm selling these at cost as I need to free up some space around my desk!

They are $15.00 each and come with 4 cartridges. They are expensive to import as I found out and more so because of the small quantity I imported (400).
If you have never seen a cartoon done using these great pens you should check out Mike Peters cartoons. He swears by this pen.
Email me if you are interested.

I might know of someone who would be interested. And I'd email you, but there's no email addy on your 'blog. So, here I am, commenting instead!
I use brushpens all over the place. I'm inspired by a conceptual artist who works for Konami Computer Entertainment Japan West named Yoji Shinkawa. But instead of using brushpens with the fibre nibs, he uses a brush pen with an actual brush (paint brush) nib, and I cant find them anywhere. Any Ideas on web sites i can buy them from?
Thanks.
Sounds like he is using a nib made by Rotring. They make a nib that is thick and imitates brushlike motions. Most art stores should be able to order one in for you.
I would be very interested in picking one up...it might be that something I have been looking for. Also, How dark is the ink?
The ink is quite dark, not watery like some pens. Originally they were used for Japanese Calligraphy which requires a rich deep colour.

Do you have anymore?
yes I still have some left if you are interested. Let me know.
These brush pens are still available in art store here in Canada and they sell for about 15$ Canadian (that's about 10$US I guess) so you could have probably ordered them from Canada at a lesser cost. The catridge packs of 4 sell for about 6$CAN and I found that expensive. I'm thinking about refilling them but I'm not sure what type of ink is used in the cartridges. Anyone know? If so, please drop me a line here: www.raisinlove.com/contact/
